The Duchess of Sussex will use the uproar over the bombshell interview with Oprah to launch a political career, a senior Labor figure claims.

The veteran of Tony Blair’s Downing Street administration with strong connections to Washington claimed that Meghan Markle was already networking among Democrats, The Mail reported.

During the 2020 US election, Meghan and Prince Harry urged Americans to “reject hate speech,” which their spokesperson described as “a call for decency.”

“The Blairite, internationalist and Democratic party networks are buzzing with talk about Meghan’s political ambitions and potential backers,” a source said.

Last year, Meghan’s friend told Vanity Fair magazine that one of the major reasons she refused to give up her American citizenship when she tied the knot with the Duke of Sussex was to let her keep open the option of entering politics.

Political experts also said that Duchess would’ve to renounce her title if she were to hold public office in the US.

The source said that the presumption was that Meghan was eyeing the 2024 election.

If the Duchess made it to the White House, she would become the first female US President and the second non-white President after Barack Obama.

One person commented: “Please, no. She’s famous because she married a Royal family member, that’s it. I watch a lot of TV and only heard of her because of Harry.”

Another wrote: “Just like I accurately predicted, the whole thing was designed as a political platform right from the start, I hope Americans are wise to her.”

A third added: “When I saw the headline I thought it was April Fools Day! She would never, ever win! I doubt she would run as they REALLY do a deep dive into backgrounds. Hers would not hold up to scrutiny!”
