Meghan Markle was mysteriously listed as a doctor on a government website.
This comes after Prince Harry and Meghan were requested to drop their HRH titles before they decided to move to Canada.
The Duchess of Sussex was named Dr. The Duchess of Sussex in an error believed to have been made by a Companies House staff.
The 38-year-old was previously named HRH The Duchess of Sussex on the website before the name was changed to Dr. The Duchess of Sussex.
According to The Sun, both titles have been removed.
A spokesperson for the executive agency said: “We are currently looking into this matter.”
The duchess has a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University majoring in theatre and international studies. She does not have a medical qualification or doctorate.
“The duchess is definitely not a doctor,” a royal insider told the newspaper.
“I must admit doing a double-take when I saw Meghan had been made a doctor,” another said. “She has been called a lot of things but I had never heard Doctor Meghan.”
The couple recently filed paperwork to dissolve their royal foundation as they focus on Prince Harry’s eco-tourism ‘Travalyst.’
A source told Newsweek: “Following previous announcements that The Duke and Duchess will not be using the name ‘Sussex Royal’ and will not continue with a foundation in its name, paperwork has been filed with Companies House and the Charity Commission to formally close the charity down.
“This will appear on the online public record in the coming days. The charity formally enters a period of “solvent liquidation”.”
