Archie attended his first official engagement meeting Archbishop Desmond Tutu in Cape Town alongside Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex brought five-month-old Archie to the city’s Old Granary building, where they were greeted by the archbishop and his daughter Thandeka with open arms.
Little Archie was dressed in a light blue pair of dungarees, white romper, and tiny grey socks. Meghan Markle revealed her sweet nickname for her baby boy.
In a video from the visit, Meghan is heard calling her son ”Bubba.”
“Say hello! Hello, hi,” she says, “Oh, Bubba!”
In a video shared on the couple’s Instagram Story, Meghan can be heard calling her son by the name when they walked down a corridor to meet with Archbishop Tutu.
Little Archie chuckled when Thandeka laughed. “Is that funny?” Thandeka noted that Archie already seemed to understand her, to which Harry said, “I think he knows exactly what’s going on.”
”You like me best, yes!” Thandeka said to Archie. “Oh, you like the ladies better, yeah.”
Meghan agreed: ”He likes to flirt.”
Prince Harry revealed that their son is “so busy, constantly wanting to stand.” Meghan added, “Exploring.”
The couple posted a sweet snap black and white snap of Archie on their Instagram, alongside the caption: “Thank you, Archbishop Tutu, for your incredibly warm hospitality, Archie loved meeting you!” It was signed “The Duke and Duchess.”
Archie left with a basket of gifts from Tutu and Thandeka, including a book of bible stories and the children’s book Desmond and the Very Mean Word, both written by the archbishop.
They also shared some behind-the-scenes video of Archie’s first official visit and wrote in a caption: “Thanks Cape Town for another impactful and memorable day! A few more highlights of this very special visit with Archbishop Desmond Tutu.”
