Meghan Markle replaced make-up mogul Kylie Jenner as the most powerful dresser after she climbed the ranks of the Lyst Index.
According to the annual fashion report, the Duchess of Sussex has gained a 216 percent increase in searches for similar items to clothes that she has sported.
The 38-year-old was ranked third last year but she managed to take the top spot this year while Kylie Jenner ranked as seventh. Meghan’s sister-in-law, Kate, and Kim Kardashian didn’t reach the top ten.
Lyst, a global fashion search platform, collated data including global media coverage, page views, social media mentions and sales to generate results on the biggest trends.
The mother-of-one is the only royal to feature in the top ten and singers dominate the list.
23-year-old Timothee Chalamet, the most influential man in fashion, ranked second while 23-year-old actress Zendaya, who did not appear in the top 20 last year, ranked the third most powerful person in fashion this year.
US-singer Billie Eilish stole the fourth place from Cardi B as the rapper has slipped one place in the rankings.
Lisa from Blackpink ranked sixth while self-made billionaire Kylie Jenner fell from number one to seventh place.
31-year-old singer Lizzo took the eight spot as Harry Styles made it to the ninth place.
Billy Porter broke conventions and became the most discussed red carpet moment of the year after he wore Christian Siriano’s tuxedo-gown to the Oscars. He ranked tenth in 2019’s most powerful influencers.
