The Duchess of Sussex opted to take on a generous role when she gifted $25 Starbucks gift cards to hundreds of non-profit workers, in an attempt for them to help fight for ‘paid family leaves’.
Meghan’s gesture was certainly appreciated by all those staffers hailing from a non-profit that has been relentlessly pushing forward to pave way for paid family leaves in the US.
The duchess is certainly doubling down on all of her efforts to push for the US Congress to pass a federal paid leave for families by this kind gesture, which she feels can help push the proposal forward in the right direction.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the paid leave in the US recently tweeted on Saturday how grateful she was for the kind move.
“Everyone will be getting a few cups of coffee, as Meghan Markle has purchased Starbucks gift cards, as so many of us continue to work overtime,” she added in her Tweet.
“She is unbelievably classy, and the gesture was so necessary,” the spokesperson went on to mention. In addition, she also sent out a few kind words for Meghan, explaining how big of an honor it was to know that she had the backs of so many people who are fighting hard for a win.
The message was concluded with a hashtag that stated, ‘paid leave for all.’
Meghan Markle who hails from Los Angeles had previously gone on to issue a letter that was directed towards House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as well as Chuck Schumer, who is the Senate majority leader.
In that same letter, Meghan spoke about how she strongly felt that a paid parental leave on a national level was needed to assist women, in particular, from all walks of life to continue serving their efforts in the workforce.
