Meghan Markle’s first gig after stepping down as a senior royal has been revealed, with the Duchess of Sussex voicing Disney’s Elephant documentary.
The entire fee for the project will go directly to the Elephants Without Borders charity, an organization that helps protect animals from poaching and dedicates to conserving wildlife.
It is understood that the Duchess recorded the voiceover in London after watching footage of the documentary on elephants.
A trailer for the documentary did not let fans hear Meghan’s narration but it showed that the story follows a ‘family’s extraordinary 1,000 mile journey across Africa on an adventure that will change their lives.’
This comes after Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, was filmed advertising his wife’s voiceover skills to Disney boss Bob Iger during the premier of Lion King in UK.
Prince Harry and Meghan are currently staying in Canada with their son Archie.
The Disneynature documentary sees African elephant Shani and her son Jomo as they are led by Gaia, their great matriarch, across the Kalahari Desert.
The elephants will face vicious predators and dwindling resources as they follow their ancestor’s footsteps to paradise.
In 2019, Meghan joked that she and her husband attended the premiere of The Lion King in London to ‘pitch’ for work.
Harry was also filmed touting Meghan’s voiceover skills to Disney boss Bob Iger. “You do know she does voiceovers?” he said, to which Mr. Iger replied: “I did not know that.” Harry then added: “You seem surprised, she’s really interested.”
“We’d love to try. That’s a great idea,” the Disney boss replied.
Media executive Simon Huck has claimed that Meghan could make $100 million this year if she accepts all offers coming her way.
In an interview with The Morning Toast, Simon claims his agency was ‘flooded’ with ‘huge’ offers of work for Meghan Markle.
Even the bosses of The Simpsons also wanted the Duchess of Sussex to appear in one of their episodes.
