An insider told DailyMail.
com, Meghan said to her friends if her sister-in-law Kate Middleton was constantly receiving criticism from the press, the royal family would have changed its media policies.
”[Meghan said] no one would have put up with it, and the broken and outdated system would have been revised. Those outlets responsible for their vicious attacks would have been shut out,” the friend revealed.
The 38-year-old former actress said the rules would have been different for Kate and ‘changes would have been made’ if she was getting the same treatment from media.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stunned palace aides after announcing their decision to boycott four major British tabloids. The friend said: ”Meghan said no one in the royal family should be surprised with the announcement.”
Meghan said every member of the royal family was aware of Harry’s disappointment towards the British tabloids and the changes he wanted to make.
”If Kate was being criticized no one would put up with it.” Meghan told her friends the palace has always been in favor of Kate and the royals would have taken an action against tabloids if the Duchess of Cambridge was criticized by them.

As per the source, Prince Harry tried to talk to his father Prince Charles and his grandmother the Queen ‘constantly’ about Meghan getting treated badly by the media but they ”wouldn’t do anything to change the protocol despite seeing ‘how it was tearing him apart.”
”[Meghan] said it was infuriating that Harry’s very real and valid concerns fell on deaf ears,” the source said.
”Meghan said they made it seem like this is the way it is, deal with it. Harry had been dealing with it far too long. She said he wasn’t going to let this destroy her life and their marriage.”
