Two men in Florida have been arrested after they allegedly tried to get an alligator drunk by capturing the reptile by the side of a road and pouring beer into its mouth.
22-year-old Noah Osborne and 27-year-old Timothy Kepke are reported to have recorded themselves during the bizarre incident, which happened by the roadside in Palm City.
According to reports, Kepke explained how his friend grabbed the alligator with his bare hands after seeing it by the side of the road.
The 27-year-old said he had been bitten on the arm but the reptile before he poured beer down into its throat. It is unclear whether he really sustained any injuries are how big the alligator was.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission received a complaint and police started to investigate the incident in August.
The two were arrested once the police became aware that a footage of the incident existed showing them during the incident.
The clip hasn’t been released by authorities and it is not clear whether the video circulated or not before the two were arrested.
Both of them have been charged with ‘taking an alligator’ unlawfully.
Although the 27-year-old admitted to having a couple of beers, he said to police he wasn’t drunk when he tried to get the alligator drunk.
The two were taken to the Martin County Jail with $2,500 and $5,000 bonds respectively.
One internet user commented: “The gator acted aggressively after beer was poured down it’s throat. You think? He was not drunk, though he’d had a few beers. This is animal cruelty. I wouldn’t be surprise if one of them if not both is a future serial killer in the making.”
Another wrote: “This might be my favorite “Florida man” news!” while a third said: “These guys barely look human themselves….”
