A meteorologist came up with just the perfect response when she was body shamed by an internet user.
Tracy Hinson, a weather reporter with KSDK News in St. Louis, pays more attention to what she is saying in her bulletin than what she is wearing at the moment.
So when a viewer asked her to cover her stomach “bulge” while on-air, Hinson knew how to fight back.
Criticizing her outfit, the body shamer wrote to the newscaster in a message: “Do you ever watch yourself giving the weather report?
“Seems that you need a girdle for the stomach overhang which shortens the front of your dresses! Today was not the first time I have noticed this.
“Maybe you should wear a top that covers the bulge in your stomach.”
Responding to the bully, the weather reporter politely told her that she was happy with her body.
“Dear Mary, yes I do watch my air checks,” Hinson wrote on her social media. “NO I will not be strapping myself into a girdle because you don’t like my belly.
“I like pasta, bread and cheese too much to obsess over my weight. I like my body and that’s all that really matters.”
As soon as Hinson shared her response on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, she got overwhelming support from people all over the world.
The reporter later took to Twitter to thank her followers for their support and love.
“Grateful and completely touched by the support I’ve gotten from my friends at KSDK News and total strangers who wrote me with words of encouragement,” she wrote on Twitter.
Hinson, who openly admits to having an obsession for mac and cheese, also poked fun at the body shamer and her message by sharing pictures of her Kraft dinner.
“Few things in life are more beautiful than this sight right here,” she wrote.
