Everything and nothing has changed for Michael Buble in the two and a half years since his then-three-year-old son Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer.
Michael Bublé made a dazzling comeback on Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing, following a career hiatus to look after his son Noah who was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. After his young son was given the all-clear in 2017, Michael opened up out about the shock cancer diagnosis.
Speaking to Australian publication Herald Sun, he said: “You know what? H— seems like a really nice place to vacation compared to where we’ve been.” Little Noah was discovered to have liver cancer in October 2016, when he was just three years old. “I’ve been to h—,” Michael added. “I don’t talk about the whole story, not even to my friends because it hurts too much.”
Speaking out Michael, 43, said: “It sucked and it still sucks because what we went through was THE worst possible thing that you could hear as a parent and maybe as a human being.
“I’d much rather it’d have been me.
“I wished that many times, I wished that it happened to me.”
‘I don’t even think about my career,’ the singer revealed. ‘It is zero on the scale of things to care about.
‘It’s going to sound sloppy, but I remember sitting there and thinking, “Why the f**k am I worried about all this s**t?”‘
Michael fought back tears as he went on to tell Australia’s The Today Show that he and his wife struggled to “survive and breathe”, adding: “More times than people could understand, some days we wished we didn’t wake up.
“When we did, we felt the love of those people, we knew they were praying for us.
“We knew there was better out there – it gave us faith in humanity, to be really blunt.
“It was just massive.”
In February last year, Michael released a statement to confirm that Noah had progressed well following a treatment and that he and Luisana were “very optimistic” about his future.
He shared at the time: “He has been brave throughout and we continue to be inspired by his courage. We thank God for the strength he has given all of us.”
In July of this year, Noah’s uncle, Dario Lopilato, said that the little boy is “doing well” following treatment.
Alongside Noah, Michael and Luisa have two-year-old Elias, and three-month-old Vida together.
The pair married in March 2011 after they met on set for Michael’s Haven’t Met You Yet music video in 2009.
