Michelle Obama had another addition to the long list of her achievements as she won a Grammy Award for the best spoken word album.

Michelle was awarded a Grammy for the audiobook recording of her masterpiece ‘Becoming.’

The former first lady surpassed film artist John Waters and audiobook of Beastie Boys Book to win the title at the ceremony in Los Angeles.

Since Michelle wasn’t there at the ceremony to receive the award herself, Esperanza Spalding – the American bassist who won Best Jazz Vocal Album in Grammys 2020 for 12 Little Spells – said she’d like to ‘gladly accept on her behalf.’

Michelle, who was among PEOPLE’s ‘People of the Year 2019,’ is one of the two first ladies to get a Grammy Award.

During the presidency of husband Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton won a Grammy in 1997 for her book ‘It Takes a Village.’

Michelle’s win has brought third Grammy to the family as husband Barack Obama had already got two in the same category in 2006 and 2008.

Barack received the awards for his bestseller memoirs ‘Dreams from My Father’ and ‘The Audacity of Hope.’

Michelle’s ‘American Grown’ was previously nominated in 2012 for the best spoken word album award, but since she didn’t do its recording, the award went to ‘Society’s Child,’ an album by Janis Ian.

The 56-year-old has now successfully taken two steps in becoming an EGOT, a word used to define persons who win Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.

For Michelle, the next two awards aren’t beyond reach as the Obamas production company, Higher Ground Productions, has just been nominated for the Best Documentary Oscar for the Netflix documentary, American Factory.
