Mike Tyson has admitted he once attempted to convince a zookeeper to let him fight a large Silverback gorilla by offering him $10,000.
As The Sun reported, the boxing legend has once allegedly offered NY zookeeper $10k in an attempt to let him fight a badass gorilla he saw while on a date with his former wife.
While the 53-year-old isn’t short of controversial moments, his offer could be his last if the zookeeper agreed to let the boxer have a match with the giant mammal.
According to The Sun, Tyson, who previously raised tigers at his home, revealed he made the offer to the zookeeper after he managed to bribe the zoo in question to let him have a private viewing.
As Tyson allegedly said, he felt he needed to fight the alpha male after spotting him bullying a group of gorillas in their enclosure.
“I paid a worker at New York’s zoo to re-open it just for me and Robin. When we got to the gorilla cage there was one big silverback gorilla there just bullying all the other gorillas,” Tyson told The Sun.
“They were so powerful but their eyes were like an innocent infant. I offered the attendant $10,000 to open the cage and let me smash that silverback’s snotbox! He declined.”
In a recent revelation, the 53-year-old boxer also opened up about keeping tigers as pets and admitted he “was foolish” for “believing they were domesticated.”
“I was foolish. There’s no way you can domesticate these cats 100 percent,” Tyson admitted on Instagram live while talking to rapper Fat Joe about the ‘Tiger King’ documentary.
“I’m just happy I educated myself. I was doing the wrong sh*t. I shouldn’t have had them in my house, believing they were domesticated. I was wrong.”
