After announcing his return to the ring for charitable purposes, 53-year-old boxing legend Mike Tyson has been flooded with offers for fights.
In a recent proposal, and perhaps the most brutal one of them all, the Iron Mike has been offered $20 million to participate in a bare-knuckle bout.
As David Feldman, the president of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, insisted, they are ready to pay The Baddest Man on The Planet $20 million to drop his mitts and fight in a bare-knuckle bout.
“While we did make a guaranteed offer of $20 million for Mike to fight for BKFC, we’re open to many different options as to how we can work together,” the president confirmed in an interview with Heavy.
“Obviously, the excitement of seeing Mike’s video showing himself training and desire to participate in exhibitions inspired us to reach out and make the offer.”
As for Mike’s opponents in the potential fight, some theories suggest he could be facing 48-year-old Shannon Briggs, who is signed to BKFC, or 42-year-old UFC star Hector Lombard.
If the Iron Mike accepts the deal, however, the decision on who his opponent will be will fall to him.
Meanwhile, Mike Tyson has also been offered $1 million to fight one of the rugby legends in an exhibition bout upon the boxer’s return to the ring.
As promoter Brian Amatruda suggested, Mike’s opponents could be former rugby league players including Paul Gallen, Barry Hall, and Sonny Bill Williams, who won all of his seven professional fights.
“He might be 53 years old but he’s still a huge name and any of those blokes Hall, Gallen or Sonny Bill would jump at the chance to get into the ring with him,” the promoter said in an interview with Daily Mail.
“I’d make it part of a card with a world title fight. It would be enormous. Not just a fight, it would be an event.
“The first thing I did was contact Max Markson [agent] and ask him to offer Tyson $1million.”
According to the reports, it is now up to Tyson to choose his opponent.
