Mike Tyson Showed Off His Incredible Speed In Sparring Video While Preparing For A Return In The Ring


Shortly after announcing he’s been planning and working out to return to the ring, 53-year-old Mike Tyson shared a video in which he’s seen showing off his incredible punching speed while sparring with a partner.

Just days after uploading the video of the practice on Instagram, the Iron Mike’s clip has racked up nearly 10 million views whereas prominent figures like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson applauded the former boxing champion.

Proving that he’s still got it even 15 years after his last professional bout, Tyson is seen delivering fast and heavy punches at his sparring partner while maintaining his form.

Previously, just days before he shared the sparring video, the Iron Mike announced he’s working out to get back in shape and reclaim his place in the ring.

The revelation came as the Iron Mike was chatting with rapper T.I. during Instagram Live and confirmed he’s been “hitting the mitts” in order to “get in shape” and return to the ring.

“I’ve been working out, I’ve been trying to get in the ring, I think I’m going to box some exhibitions and get in shape,” Tyson said.

“I want to go to the gym and get in shape to be able to box three or four-round exhibitions for some charities and stuff. Some charity exhibitions, make some money, help some homeless and drug-affected motherfu**er like me.”

As the former boxing champion went on to explain, he’s been training for hours each day and was left in pain “like three guys kicked the sh** out of me.”

“I do two hours on cardio, I do the bike and the treadmill for an hour, then I do some light weights, 300, 250 reps,” the Iron Mike said.

“Then I start my day with the boxing thing, I go in there and hit the mitts, 30 minutes, 25 minutes, start getting in better condition.”
