A rich guy who believed homeless people were ‘lazy’ changed his mind after spending three days in London streets as part of 5STAR’s new show, Rich Kids Go Homeless.
23-year-old Keiren left his luxury residence to spend some days with ‘homeless’ on the streets – where he was forced to wash with wet wipes in McDonald’s toilets and was about to be stabbed at one point.
The self-made millionaire wanted to prove his theory that homeless people can improve their life by working hard enough, but his attitude changed soon.
The trader – who claims to make $13,000 a day – has a wardrobe worth $39,000 and spends $130,000 on cars.
He joined the life on the streets with just a pair of thick socks, a sleeping bag, and a wind coat.
Keiren believed he could get off the streets within just three days but it didn’t take long for him to admit he’s wrong.
“I feel like I’m selling my body, you have to swallow your pride a bit,” he said in a video clip as he realized he had just made $6.50.
Before hitting the streets, he said on the show: “I feel like the homeless could do a lot more for themselves.
“A lot of the homeless are weak-minded and lazy, but they shouldn’t be like that because you’re already at rock bottom, it can’t get any worse.”
Keiren didn’t even get a good start, thanks to his shining teeth he had sorted in Turkey.
According to The Sun, the show’s crew had to step in when a homeless guy became suspicious of the millionaire, saying: “They’re no homeless teeth.”
Another schizophrenic man was about to stab Keiren, as he shouted: “Who are you?
“You have got very nice teeth. You’re a cop. I’ve never seen you before and I fucking run things around here. I’m gonna fucking murder you.”
Keiren recalls: “I didn’t know what to do – do I defend myself or run? I turned to the cameraman and asked: ‘What’s the plan?’ He told me to walk.
“He could have stabbed me. I was in real danger. Only the cameraman was with me.”
The young guy created a sign which read ‘if you don’t have any spare change, I appreciate conversation’, saying: “If they get to know me then they will give me some money.”
But nothing worked as per his expectations and he realized how wrong he was.
After returning to his luxurious house in Oldham, Greater Manchester, Keiren was a changed man. The dad-of-one vowed to help the homeless folks the rest of his life.
