A model and an actress with a strong presence on Instagram have shouted out to her followers and started a crowdfunding page in an attempt to raise $12,000 that she requires in order to have her “painful” breast implants removed.
US-based Mayela Caldera, who is originally from Venezuela, has admitted to her followers that her breast implants are causing immense pain and that she wants to have them removed.
The reverse procedure, however, is far from cheap. To get rid of the implants that rendered her unable to work, the model is requesting her fans to help her collect the whopping amount the procedure costs.
“I have a complication with my breast implants, and they should be removed as soon as possible. Health insurance does not cover this type of surgery and that is why I have opened this GoFundMe campaign,” Caldera wrote on GoFundMe.
As the model added, the pain left her unable to work and send money to her family who remained in crisis-hit Venezuela.
According to Mayela, the pain began in her left breast approximately one year ago. While her doctor first told her the pain was most likely deriving from stress, the model grew more concerned as the pain continued to spread and increase.
After getting the opinion of six other doctors, Caldera finally got her answer as to what was responsible for the pain.
“In January, the pain moved very strongly to the left arm, preventing movement, since then I have difficulty sleeping and I have inflammation in the whole area of the armpit and chest with a lot of pain,” she wrote.
“My left mammary implant has moved about 4cm (1.6 ins) to the left and is pressing on a nerve between the ribs which connects to my back and arm.
“The pain is as intense as that of the sciatic nerve and it is very likely that part of the silicone is attached to it, if so, the doctor must remove part of the nerve and this would cause the loss of sensitivity of my left side.
“It has been very hard to deal with my health situation all these months, the costs of medicine here in the United States are very high and it is very frustrating to know that you need urgent specialized medical attention but do not have enough resources to cover it.”
Pleading for help, the model added:
“Yesterday when the doctor told me ‘You will be fine, I’m going to take away the pain,’ I cried and cried because there have been so many months of uncertainty, of pain…
“I am very affected by everything that my family and my people suffer in my country, Venezuela, I try to do everything possible to get ahead, looking for work, with the hope of being able to help my parents back in Caracas.
“But my body will not give anymore and the pain every day when I wake up demotivates me, it takes away my strength.”
As of this writing, the model managed to raise over $1,600 out of her ultimate $12,000 goal.
