An Australian model who did not know that she was pregnant, got a surprise when she gave birth to a baby in her bathroom.
Erin Langmaid gave birth to a healthy 7 lbs. and 7 oz. baby girl, Isla May. She didn’t feel any pregnancy symptoms and she was consistently using contraceptive injections, According to 7 News reports.
“I wasn’t showing obviously because I fit into everything,” Langmaid, 23, told the outlet. “It’s just really bizarre.”
Langmaid and her boyfriend Daniel Carty’s life completely changed two weeks ago when the model started feeling ill and went to the bathroom.
Langmaid said, within just ten minutes, her daughter had arrived shockingly, a moment that made Carty, speechless.
“I heard a scream and I ran in there and then I saw the little one and I thought, ‘Hang on, there’s two,’” he recalled to 7 News of his shock. He got panicked when he realized Isla had stopped breathing.
Carty called 000 (Australia’s version of 911) and the operator came immediately to restore his daughter’s breathing and save her life.
Thankfully, Carty’s quick thinking saved his girlfriend and daughter’s life. They were soon rushed to the hospital, where doctors found that Langmaid had experienced a cryptic pregnancy.
