Kenadie was born in 2003.
Her mother, Brianne Jourdin was thrilled to have her. However, Kenadie was a special child measuring 11-inches and weighing only 2.5 pounds.
She was so small, a part of her brain was missing. She was tagged with a name called ‘Thumbelina’ by the nurses at the hospital.
The doctors told Brianne that Kenadie would not survive past one week. Her condition was so critical that she was prone to severe brain damage. The mom brought her home to die.
Brianne had no idea about how much time Kenadie had. She took her to a church the day she was born to be baptized.
Brianne was devastated. She said that everything she had planned for her daughter went in vain. However, the God had some different plans. Kenadie turned eight months old surpassing her ‘few days’ life expectancy.
But she was diagnosed with another condition – a rare form of Primordial Dwarfism. The condition leads to premature aging, respiratory issues, bone fragility and more.
14 years have passed, and Kenadie is alive and thriving. The doctors are still baffled about how did she made it to this extent.
Brianne told in an interview that Kenadie is a determined, feisty and independent child. She loves to share her stuff and make people happy. Kenadie stands at the size of a two-year-old, but she goes to normal school, hangs out with normal children of her age and also loves to participate in school’s extracurricular activities. Her mom says that Kenadie likes cooking.
She loves her friends. They all go ice skating, and bowling and Brianne are just proud of her daughter. She is achieving more than one could realize. Brianne said that whenever Kenadie puts on her skating shoes, she cries and she cries because of happiness. She has proved all the doctors and medical theories wrong.
However, there are certain risks hovering around Kenadie. An aneurysm is one of them. The risks can’t be completely removed but can be monitored. She will have to live with these risks her entire life.
Brianne said that she would do everything in her power to keep her daughter happy no matter what the obstacles are.
