In the UK, a raging mother has slammed a school official who let her daughter, 6, walk home without any supervision after attending a film night.
Emily Rose, a firefighter who’s in her 20’s, dropped her daughter Sofia, 6, at the Parent-Teacher Association event in St Michael’s CE Primary School in Larkhill.
However, the child has returned home an hour later at 6:15 in the evening, saying she left because she’s being bullied by other kids.
“My worst nightmare is getting called to an accident with my own child,” Emily said. “God forbid if she was kidnapped. She crossed main roads on her own and I’m so thankful nothing happened to her.”
According to The Sun, Sofia told her mom that she was being bullied by a group of boys during the evening event.
Emily said that Sofia was able to leave the school hall and make her own way home, crossing a number of busy roads and darkened streets on Friday, October 8.
Emily said that Sofia was verbally abused by older children while attending the movie night causing her to leave the event unadvised.
Meanwhile, St Michael’s CE Primary School has since made an apology to the furious mom over the incident.
In an email to parents, the school stated that all PTA events would be suspended while it investigates.
“We have had an apology but it’s a safeguarding worry and we will make sure something is changed so this never happens again and our children are safe,” Emily said. “This could have been so much worse.”
At the time of this writing, the primary school has been reached for comment but has not yet responded.
