A mother of three children is expressing her fury after an Uber Eats driver found her lost wedding ring but refuses to return it.
45-year-old Satoko Numachi claims she lost her wedding ring at a bakery recently in London. But when she went back to claim it, she found out from the bakery staff how it was located by a driver from Uber Eats that now refuses to give it back.
“I was so devastated when I reached home and noticed that my wedding ring was no longer in my pocket. I had only taken it off to squeeze a few dozen lemons so I could make lemonade for my daughter’s school. Little did I know that the ring would fall out of my pocket,” she explained.
Hence, camera footage that was located outside of the bakery revealed how the 45 year old had dropped the ring while parking her bike, right outside the bakery’s premises. Before she knew it, she scrambled back inside only to find out the horrifying story about a greedy Uber Eats driver.
“I just couldn’t believe my ears. What was I listening to. The driver had found my ring and decided to bring it to the bakery. While the staff suggested that he return it to them as they thought it belonged to one of their customers, he simply denied,” she went on to add.
Clearly, this was a case of stolen theft, the woman said. But that was not all. The driver even had the nerve to go ahead and tell the bakery staff how the ring was a prized possession and that meant it would be quite expensive. He even spoke about how much he would gain in terms of profits as the next thing he would do was go about selling it.
