Despite certain diseases such as measles being brought to the edge of extinction thanks to modern medicine, plenty of people have decided to stand up to vaccinations and combat deadly diseases in their own ways.
With the anti-vaxx movement on the rise, more and more people also refuse to vaccinate their children despite the WHO announcing that anti-vaxxers, the people who refuse vaccinations, present one of the top ten global health threats.
Following her decision not to vaccinate her children, Shanelle Cartwright, the wife of NRL player Bryce Cartwright, spoke out and provided her reasoning for refusing vaccinations.
“I remember Bryce was so defensive when I first brought it up and got angry at me for even suggesting that we shouldn’t vaccinate,” the personal trainer revealed in a Q&A session on social media.
“And then he read a package insert and few pages of one of Dr. Suzanne Humphries books and saw vaccines under a different light. And now we’re here.”
Dr. Humphries is one of the most renowned advocates of the anti-vaxx movement who believes that getting vaccinated causes severe damages to one’s immune system.
According to the couple, who refused to vaccinate themselves for flu ever since they began following Dr. Humphries’ advice, they are in a “slow process of healing” and suffer from allergies and auto-immune disorders because of prior vaccinations.
Besides refusing to vaccinate their children, Bryce and Shanelle also announced that they have chosen to avoid nappies and raise their children in a way that is not “unnatural.”
“For this baby we are going to try no nappies and do elimination communication, especially if we have a girl,” Shanelle added.
“All mammals will instinctively NOT soil their nest and will eliminate where mum tells them to. You don’t shit your pants because you know it’s uncomfortable and yucky.
“Just like you teach a kitten to go in a litter box or a puppy to only go outside – you teach a baby the same.”
The couple is also more than ready to home school their children.
