Here Is What Happened
Keith Bradshaw, Senior corporal, and Candace Spragins, 1st Class Officer, soon arrived at the offender’s home. Despite being ready for anything, they didn’t expect what followed. The woman, a mother of three adopted children, paid the $36 worth of groceries to the cops.

She then apologized and broke down. The woman told the cops that she recently went through a brain surgery and was unable to work. Her kids were starving as she didn’t have enough money to fill up their fridge. She told the cops that the kids weren’t eating for three days.
The officers were touched by her heartbreaking story and were shocked when they opened the fridge. They realize that it was a crime based on needs and not greed. Despite being required to criminally charge her with theft, Candace and Keith did something no one expected.
The two officers went back to the store and bought groceries worth $140 for her. Upon delivering the goodies to the woman, she hugged and thanked the officers.
What do you think about this incident? Was the woman right for stealing the food to feed her hungry children? What would you do if you were in her shoes or in the position of the cops?
