A rhesus macaque monkey decided to adopt an adorable puppy in India.
Locals were so surprised after seeing the monkey defend the small dog from strays.
When they gave the monkey some food, they were also stunned to see it letting the dog eat first.
Zee News reported: “People who have seen them spoke of their strong mutual affection and described their bond as the most caring thing in the world — to take care of a puppy in danger and protect him like a parent.
“Their undying affection gives us a valuable lesson about relationships.”
The macaque mother took care of the little pooch as if it were her own.
Locals were so touched that they started leaving food out for the two.
One internet user commented: “I think this is sweet too but the monkey treats the puppet like a baby monkey and that puppy needs to run around – not go up in trees.”
Another wrote: “I hope the locals are intelligent enough to realize that the monkey and dog have totally different diets and nutritional needs.”
