If you have ever tried to sneak some extra cash from the bank at Monopoly or have tried to avoid paying rent when landing on Park Place, then this new version of the game might help you.
“A recent study conducted by Hasbro revealed that nearly half of game players attempt to cheat during Monopoly games, so in 2018, we decided it was time to give fans what they’ve been craving all along – a Monopoly game that actually encourages cheating,” Jonathan Berkowitz, Senior Vice President of Hasbro gaming tells.
The new game has all kinds of cheating built inside it. In addition to Community Chest and Chance cards, the Cheater’s Edition also comes with a stack of 15 cheat cards.
If the player succeeds at any given task, then they get a reward. But if they get caught, they could wind up in jail and with a handcuff.
People who never played Monopoly to the end would love this new cheating version which encourages players to actually finish a game for once. While they will also try to get away with as much as they can themselves.
“For the first time in Monopoly history, there is no designated Banker,” says Berkowitz. “Players are in control of the Bank on their turn, and pass it to the next player when their turn is over, making it easier to pull of ‘cheats’ such as the Bank Heist.”
