Piers Morgan, 56, has taken to Twitter to insist that he “still” doesn’t believe what Meghan Markle says. The presenter shared several newspaper clippings from today addressing reports that Meghan has now apologized for “misleading” the courts.

Meghan apologized to a court for not telling a judge about emails showing her attempts to influence a biography about her and Prince Harry, saying: “I forgot.”

But emails were shown to the court reveal Meghan and Harry had heavily briefed their press spokesman Jason Knauf on what to say to writers Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand before he met them two years ago.

Tweeting a number of front-page headlines referring to the exposés, Piers wrote: “I’ve now had eight months to carefully reflect on my statement that I don’t believe a word Meghan Markle says… and I still don’t.”

He added: “The “end game” is that the Sussexes are stopped – by the Queen – from ruthlessly exploiting their royal titles for 100s of millions of dollars whilst simultaneously trashing the Royal Family & Monarchy. It’s shameful.”

Meghan apologized to a judge for not mentioning the email exchange in her high-profile privacy court case against The Mail on Sunday’s publisher for revealing the contents of the letter she sent to her father. She had won her case but the newspaper is appealing.

Meghan told the court: “I accept that Mr. Knauf did provide some information to the authors for the book and that he did so with my knowledge, for a meeting that he planned for with the authors in his capacity as communications secretary.”

“I did not have the benefit of seeing these emails and I apologize to the Court for the fact I had not remembered these exchanges at the time. I had absolutely no wish or intention to mislead the defendant or the Court,” she added.

Former palace aide Jason Knauf, in his witness statement, said Finding Freedom “was discussed on a routine basis” and “discussed directly with the Duchess multiple times in person and over email.”

He also said the Duchess of Sussex had provided several points to share with authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand during a potential meeting, which was also discussed between the Duke of Sussex and Knauf.

In another exchange, Harry told Mr. Knauf: “I totally agree that we have to be able to say we didn’t have anything to do with it. Equally, you giving the right context and background to them would help get some truths out there.”

“The truth is v much needed and would be appreciated, especially around the Markle/wedding stuff but at the same time we can’t put them directly in touch with her friends,” he added.

The newspaper is appealing the decision it breached the duchess’ privacy by publishing portions of the handwritten letter she wrote to her father Thomas Markle after her royal wedding in 2018.

Morgan’s Twitter tirade comes months after the then-Good Morning Britain host stormed off set during an explosive on-air rant, in which he described the Duchess of Sussex as a “liar” following her TV interview with Oprah.

Meghan and Prince Harry personally lodged a complaint against ITV and Ofcom following the outburst. Ofcom later ruled that restricting Piers Morgan’s strong views would be an “unwarranted and chilling restriction on freedom of expression.”

Morgan has been particularly outspoken when it comes to the Duchess of Sussex. Earlier this year, he slammed Markle over the launch of her children’s book, calling it “absolutely ridiculous”.
