Morrisons has taken a pledge to form 3,500 new jobs in order to expand their delivery services while coronavirus continues to spread all over the U.

The supermarket said that is will expand home delivery with new methods of getting shopping to consumers as well as more slots for customers.
The shoppers have been struggling as they have to wait for long time in their online shopping slots as well as empty shelves since the spread of coronavirus in the U.K. Supermarkets have issued pleas to stop the customers from panic buying as well as introduced restriction of number of items a person can get.
Morrisons now will be launching a range of easy-to-order food packages including choices for vegetarians from 23rd March. It will be making an increased number of delivery slots available as well both through Amazon Prime Now’s Morrisons Store and Morrisons.com.
For those who do not like shopping online, it will also be introducing customer call center. This will enable those people to order on the phone. For making this possible, Morrisons is going to recruit an additional 3,500 workers.
Apart from 2,500 drivers and prickers to expand home delivery, the brand will be recruiting more than 1,000 people to work in Morrison’s distribution centers. The vacancies are going to be advertised through a campaign on social media and radio and its jobs website.
Moreover, Morrisons will be taking measures to help its vulnerable customers, as well as better, protect its workforce. Furthermore, it will be changing sick pay rules for employee protection.
It said that anyone working in Morrisons who is sick with Covid-19 or taking care of someone suffering from coronavirus will receive sick pay.
