A mother’s angry rant has gone viral after she lashed out at the teacher who tried to help her child.
The incident came to light after a primary school teacher slammed a parent on Reddit as he/she opened up about an unpleasant conversation with a student’s mother.
“I am an elementary teacher navigating this bonkers online format. Luckily parents are super rational,” the unnamed teacher sarcastically captioned the screenshots of the text exchange with the parent.
As seen in the messages, the teacher informed students and parents that whiteboards, or plastic alternatives, will be required to participate in the upcoming virtual class.
“On a Sunday afternoon you expect us to have whiteboards available by tomorrow?” one parent responded to the teacher’s announcement.
After the teacher told the upset mother that her daughter already had a whiteboard, the parent lashed out at the teacher with accusations.
“And clearly none of your business as she is not supposed to use it for school. How dare you peer into my personal space and say that! :)” the mother replied.
“Whether it is on Zoom or not, you do not have the right AS HER TEACHER, to peer into my personal space to say what is or not is on my walls.”
Following the fiery reply, the teacher apologized and recalled that the student previously used the whiteboard in class.
“I know that… thanks for the heads up!!” the mother responded. “EITHER WAY, it is not YOUR PLACE to comment on my home! And what I have in it! That WAS MADE CLEAR!!”
After the exchange went viral on Reddit, the majority of people defended the teacher for trying to help the student, whereas some suggested that the mother was being upset for no good reason.
