The mother-of-15 from New Mexico was arrested and was charged with child abuse and extreme cruelty to animals.
Some of her adult children contacted the police and told officers about emotional and physical abuse they suffered from Crouch.
One teen daughter said one of the dogs had puppies and their mother “took the puppies and put them into a giant pot and boiled them, making all the kids watch.”
Another child said she got pregnant early and her mother beat her until she lost her baby. Another daughter informed authorities that she was kept in a ‘fat chain’ for three years as they lived in Alaska because her mother thought she gained weight.
One daughter told officers the mother fed a cat poison. She also recalled how she was hit by her mother with a spatula for asking why she couldn’t go to school.
A son said to investigators he was “beaten, shot, stabbed and run over by his parents” and “had BBs still inside his arm from when the mother shot him with a shotgun.”
The family had lived in numerous places and every time officers questioned them, they move to a new state.
Denna Taylor, an investigator, said she received hundreds of pages of reports in several other states, including Montana, Kansas, Missouri and Alaska.
Timothy Crouch Jr., one of the children, denied the allegations and claimed they were fabricated. The 31-year-old said if it wasn’t for their mother, he “would be living in a ditch.”
According to court records, the family had at least one encounter with authorities.
