A mother has opened up about her baby daughter’s massive birthmark and insisted it is what makes her beautiful.

As Ebony King explained, she and her husband, Jamie, decided to turn down all offers of surgery after their daughter Harper was born with a giant birthmark on her face.

According to the loving parents from Huddersfield, UK, the birthmark is what makes their daughter beautiful and they refuse to have it removed until Harper is old enough to decide what she wants to do with it.

“The birthmark came as a huge shock, and it upset me so much to think how Harper might be treated as she grows up. People can be very cruel,” 23-year-old Ebony admitted.

While the parents were left “speechless” by Harper’s unique looks, they soon realized her birthmark is what makes her unique and special.

“But to us, it’s just a part of her and we can’t ever imagine her without it,” the proud mom added.

“Her older siblings call it her ‘special mark’ and that is exactly how we see it too; Harper is special. She is even more beautiful with her birthmark and we will make sure we tell her that every day.”

While Harper’s birthmark may be extremely rare, it, fortunately, poses no danger to her health and is entirely harmless.

As the mother added, her daughter’s birthmark will never disappear completely even though it started fading away following her birth.

“We’ve decided to leave the surgery until Harper is old enough to make up her own mind. It’s a huge undertaking and she should be the one to decide,” Ebony added.

“For us now, it’s part of her and we can’t imagine our daughter without it. Her development is perfect and she’s a really cheeky, mischievous little girl.

“Her big brother and sister adore her and call her birthmark; ‘the special mark.’ I know life won’t be easy for Harper, she will face a lot of challenges. But it’s our job to make her feel special and to make her see that the birthmark makes her even more beautiful.”
