An irresponsible mother was blasted on social media after locking her baby in the car to go shopping.
A mom from New Zealand has been facing backlash on the internet after leaving her infant in a locked car while doing the shopping.
As the NZHerald reported, people passing by the parked car were quick to notice the baby in the car seat. To make matters even more infuriating, the mother left behind a note telling strangers to call her if something was wrong with her baby.
“My mum’s doing the shopping, call her if I need anything,” the note read.
According to the family that first noticed the baby in the parked car, they were left in shock after reading the note. They also admitted having no option but to wait because they simply couldn’t leave the woman’s baby alone in the car.
Shortly after, two more people passed by and the child’s mother was eventually called and told to come out of the store.
After the story went viral on Facebook, people immediately slammed the irresponsible mom not only for leaving her baby unattended in her car but also for making strangers look after the infant and telling them to call her if her baby needed anything.
“Why did she have time to write a note?? Secondly, you do not put a capsule seat in the front of a car, due to dashboard airbags. Also, if you are that tired you should not be driving,” someone wrote.
“I’m sorry this is completely irresponsible! You do not leave children under the age of 14 unsupervised at all,” another one said.
