A mother from Tennessee has been charged after sharing a Facebook Live video showing her carelessly bench pressing her 1-month-old baby while smoking.
Tybresha Sexton was arrested after people reported the incident to authorities, showing Sexton picking the baby up and dropping her.
The video also showed her smoking with one hand while bench pressing her daughter.
Police documents revealed that when cops arrived Sexton told them that she ‘didn’t want the f****** baby anyway,’ and said she ‘already told them that.’
She has been charged with aggravated child abuse.
When officers arrived at her home, Sexton said to the cops that reports were not true and let an officer check on the baby.
That cop said the mother was making irrational statements and her breath reeked of alcohol. Several empty liquor bottles are also found lying around.
Her neighbors came to the flat while cops were there and showed them the video, which shows Sexton shaking the baby.
The video also showed her carelessly lifting the child with one hand while smoking with the other.
Sexton was also charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Upon arriving at the police station, she announced again that she didn’t want the baby and continued to cause disorder.
The child is now with Sexton’s mother.
One internet user commented: “I know people that would love to have children and cant and this woman treats her child like this. Life is definitely not fair.”
Another said: “Although her mother is now caring for baby, it’s worrying that she could still have access to the child by sweet talking her mother into it and then harming her. In my opinion the child would be safer with a foster family till this lady sorts herself out.”
A third wrote: “I have a feeling she was high on drugs during that horrible moment because if she didn’t care for the infant it wouldn’t be dressed so neatly. I bet once she comes out of her drugged up state of mind she’s going to want her baby back. I pray that beautiful little girl never sees her horrible mother again.”
