Heartbreaking pictures from the funeral of mother Hannah Clarke and her three children sharing a single coffin have been released.
31-year-old Hannah and her three kids Aaliyah, 6, Laianah, 4 and Trey 3 were killed by Hannah’s husband and father Rowan Baxter.
Three weeks ago, Rowan doused the mother’s car in petrol and his wife and their three children burned to death.
Hundreds of mourners attended their funeral service at Citipointe Church in Carindale.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and police commissioner Katarina Carroll also attended their funeral.
The mother and her three children shared a single white coffin covered in pink flowers.
Hannah’s brother Nathaniel described his sister as ‘one of the greatest mums to walk this earth’ in his eulogy.
Nathaniel said in his eulogy: “I’m so sorry I couldn’t protect you Hannah, Aaliyah, Laianah, and Trey.”
Hannah and her three kids were burned to death on February 19 when her estranged husband Baxter, doused her car in petrol when Hannah driving the children to school and daycare.
The children died in the car and Hannah died later in hospital. Baxter also died at the scene from self-inflicted knife wounds.
Her parents Lloyd and Suzanne Clarke told Daily Mail Australia that their daughter had been a victim of domestic violence for 11 years and left her husband in November.
Mr.
Clarke said: “She had to get the kids and just go without saying anything because he was such a control freak and would get into her headspace and she would give in.”
The father even kidnapped one of the kids before he killed them. He was tracking his wife’s phone.
Mr. Clarke said: “He thought he was hard done by and wanted 50 percent of custody and we knew that couldn’t work, the guy didn’t work, he couldn’t support his own family. It started getting ugly.”
To take revenge, he burned his wife and children to death and then stabbed himself to death.
