A mother confronted doctors at a hospital in Turkey after the death of her 16-year-old daughter.
Sofiya Lanshakova was on a family holiday in Antalya, Turkey when she fell ill. The teen was diagnosed with acute appendicitis.
But after she passed away, her parents are convinced that she was killed and her organs and womb were removed and sold on the black market.
Sofiya’s dad, Vyacheslav Lanshakov, previously said to Russian television channel TVK6: “We have a suspicion that it was for organ transplantation.”
Photos show that the mother, Tatiana Lanshakova, was detained by cops as she complained at the hospital.
The CCTV images show the mom waiting at the desk then approached hospital staff.
“I could never think that I would stand at my daughter’s grave,” she told local news, adding: “Exhumation – we are ready to go to the end, however painful. We need the truth.”
The truth remains a mystery but it has been reported that Russian authorities’ findings on body inspection matched up with the claims that the teen’s organs were gone, even though a complete forensic report is expected to be delivered next month.
Russian ambassador to Turkey Alexey Erkhov said: “We deeply sympathise with the grief of the mother who lost her daughter. Russian diplomats will continue to assist in resolving this issue.”
A representative of the hospital said that: “We did not take any organs. It was [done by] police at the autopsy.”
Sofiya Lanshakova was taken to numerous private hospitals before she passed away and a spokesperson from the Siedra clinic, where she was first taken, blamed the mother for what happened.
The spokesperson for Siedra clinic, Asya Batcheva, said: “I believe that the mother is to blame – she did not sound alarm on the first or second day (when the girl felt abdominal pains).
“What proof do they have that something was done wrong? Or some organs taken? If something was missing, any crimes committed against that girl, I think that the criminal case would be initiated.”
