The coronavirus crisis has affected so many lives as many people have left jobless after the pandemic.
This difficult period is hard especially for the poor ones as they are not blessed with the things we all are.
A widowed mom-of-eight from Kenya who used to wash laundry locally to feed her family is among those who have left with no money after the lockdown started.

Peninah lives in a two-bedroomed house which has no electricity and running water. She told NTV her children understood that her mom is lying and there was no food in the house.
She said: “They started telling me that they knew I was lying to them, but I could do nothing because I had nothing.” After the News station told the story of Peninah, generous people are coming forward to help her family with donations.
Prisca opened a bank account for Peninah to receive money as the latter is not literate. Peninah told Tuko news website: “I didn’t believe that Kenyans can be so loving after I received phone calls from all over the country asking how they might be of help.”
To help the poor people amid the coronavirus crisis, the Kenyan government has launched a feeding program but Peninah had not received it. The COVID-19 pandemic reached Kenya in March 2020 and currently, there have been 24 deaths and 490 cases are registered in the country.
