According to the mom, she was unable to take her self-isolating daughter with her because her 7-seater car was unavailable and she didn’t have the space for all of her kids in the courtesy car she received for the day.

“She’s off school as the bubble are isolating and I had school runs to do today. I drive a 7 seater car and had been given a courtesy car for the day. This car only has 5 seats and I needed 6 if dd was going to fit in,” the mom explained.

“I couldn’t do anything else at short notice. The others were at school and needed collecting.”

As the mother insisted, she was only gone for 15 minutes, whereas she allegedly made sure her daughter knew about potential dangers.

“I spoke to her beforehand about the dangers and what to do if x or y happened, explained she could use Alexa to call my mobile also if there was a problem. I was gone about 15 minutes in total,” she added.

“Even if I’d have walked (which isn’t so close) she wouldn’t have been able to come to the school with me as they’ve sent the bubble home. But at least next time I can leave her in the car if needs be now we’ve got the big one back.”

As the mother added, she found her daughter in the same place she had left her after returning home.

“I came home and she was where I’d left her, on the sofa watching tv lying down on her iPad. Is this awful of me? I feel so negligent,” she said.

After asking fellow parents if she made the right decision, the mother was slammed by people who accused her of being “irresponsible” and “unreasonable.”

“Sorry I think you were massively unreasonable. You knew about the car. You knew the school run needed doing. You had six hours to formulate a better plan. Unreasonable and irresponsible. Sorry,” one parent wrote.

“It was negligent, yes your daughter was fine but she might not have been. Had the police been notified they would of forced entry and you’d have a referral to Social Services. It’s not worth the hassle is it?” another one warned.

One person said: “Age 7 is too young regardless of how sensible or mature they appear to be.”

While some people lashed out at the mother, others rushed to her aid suggesting she did nothing wrong.

“I think it’s fine if you have a sensible one who would be able to call someone or knock at a neighbor’s if necessary,” one user wrote.

“It was 15 minutes. Your daughter was fine. Stop beating yourself up about it!” another one added.
