A furious mother has spoken out after her young daughter was unfairly punished by her school.
As 35-year-old Lucy Daniels revealed, her 13-year-old daughter, Hayley, was placed in isolation at her school, the John Of Gaunt School in Wiltshire, England, after wearing pants that the school provided her with.
According to the mother, the young girl was told by her school that she was showing “too much ankle” while wearing her pants. Ironically, the school was the one to provide the 13-year-old with the trousers she wore when she got disciplined.
“It’s getting beyond a joke now. The trousers she’s wearing are ones the school provided for her because at the time we were still in lockdown and I could not go out and buy her any,” the mother explained.
“She still wears the trousers to this day and still continues to get in isolation for the trousers the school provided.”
As the upset mum argued, the school is applying its policies inconsistently, whereas some students are allowed to wear such pants while others are not.
Another furious parent is 42-year-old Lou Gover whose daughter was placed in isolation because her legs are deemed “too big” for her pants by the school.
“My 14-year-old daughter was sent to isolation on Monday for wearing trousers that were apparently too tight,” Gover says.
“It’s ridiculous. We were told the trousers were fine a month ago but today the same trousers are not acceptable. The teacher told my daughter her legs were too big for that style of trouser. She’s only been wearing them for over a month after we had to buy new ones in April.”
The angry parent went on to reveal that the school threatened to keep her daughter in isolation until she comes back in new pants.
“They told me they would have to keep her in isolation until they were replaced. I told them I would keep her off school. I have been offered a refund and have spoken to the head about comments made by teachers,” Gover added.
“This has gone on for months and caused a lot of stress where different teachers have different rules. It’s all costly and stressful for parents and the children.”
