A mother has been left even more devastated after burglars broke into her home and stole her baby son’s ashes.
22-year-old Chloe Robinson from Connah’s Quay, Flintshire, North Wales was shocked to discover that her home had been broken into.
But what shattered her heart even more was finding out that the ashes of her stillborn son Hunter were gone.
Speaking to NorthWalesLive, Chloe said: “I can’t believe what kind of sick individual would do this.
“I saw the damage to my flat and that was upsetting enough but when I saw that my son’s ashes were gone, I just lost it, I was screaming and crying.”
The grieving mother said she had been staying with her family when she came back home on Saturday and discovered that the box containing her son’s ashes had been emptied.
Other items that were stolen were balloons meant for Hunter’s memorial party.
“When you look at a child’s ashes you know that’s irreplaceable, it’s all I’ve got to remember him by,” Chloe said.
“I just can’t imagine who would do this, they are evil and twisted scumbags.”
The 22-year-old said she no longer feels secure in her own home as she slammed the ‘sick individuals’ who not only stole irreplaceable items but also left ‘disgusting’ trash behind.
“The whole flat was trashed, they even left used condoms on the couch, I just can’t get my head around it, it’s disgusting,” she expressed.
Chloe is now planning a special service to honor Hunter and has set up a fundraising page to help replace some of the items lost.
“Trying to keep my head up in this time is so hard, but I’m still fighting for justice and I’m always going to fight to keep Hunter’s memory alive,” she added.
