A mother believes she found the face of Jesus Christ on her Brussels sprout while preparing a delicious meal for her family.

As 34-year-old Shaunagh Roberts from Waltham Abbey, England, explained, she was left stunned after spotting marks that instantly reminded her of Jesus’ face on a Brussels sprout.

After her ‘remarkable’ find, the mother decided to spare the vegetable and take photos of it rather than throwing it into the pan with the rest of the veggies.

“I was taking out the sprouts, topping and tailing them, and putting a cross on the bottom. When I saw the face, I remember thinking ‘Oh my God, it could be Jesus,’” Roberts reportedly recalled.

“I didn’t have the heart to cook him, so I left the sprout in a corner cupboard and he just sat up there for a little while.

“After he stopped looking like Jesus, he got put in the green recycling bin. I thought it was funny and it was even funnier because I found him just before Christmas.”

As the mother, who describes herself as “spiritual,” added, she found the sprout rather funny.

Complete with Jesus’ iconic locks and beard, the Brussels sprout quickly started a debate on social media after the picture went viral.

While some people said they couldn’t see a face on the moldy vegetable, others quickly pointed out that the sprout reminded them of other people, including Johnny Depp.

As Roberts added, she “wished for Johnny Depp for Christmas” whereas her wish partially came true thanks to the Brussels sprout.

“When I saw the face, I shouted to the kids, ‘Look, I don’t know if it’s Johnny Depp or Jesus.’ I said to my friends, ‘I wished for Johnny Depp for Christmas and I got him at the bottom of a sprout,’” the 34-year-old said.
