A mother-of-four has revealed how she feeds her family-of-six for less than £3 a week using a Morrisons trick.
27-year-old Rebekah Scott, from Bexleyheath, revealed that she managed to grab two Morrisons boxes full of fruits, vegetables, Wotsits, Kinder chocolates, Raffaello last month for the bargain price.
All you have to do is download the Too Good To Go app. The app allows you to buy unsold food from retailers that are going to expire.
Instead of throwing it away, the app offers you the food for the bargain price.
You will just have to pay through the app and you will get a slot before the expiry date. You can then go and pick up the food.
Rebekah shared the picture of the food that she purchased for the bargain price on the Latest Deals Facebook group with the caption: “I bought the Morrisons Magic Box from an App called Too Good To Go. As a family of six, with four children aged three months, one, six and nine, we’re always on the lookout for a bargain so at £3.09 a box we gave it a go.”
“Expecting the box to contain fruit and veg that was getting past its best we were a bit sceptical but when we picked up our box we were amazed at the brilliant contents, all of which was still in date and most until next year!”point 404 | 1
“We received, carrots, dates, sprouts, chestnuts, monkey nuts, cashews, sticky Deri dates, mushrooms, chocolate fruit, and nut collections, chestnuts, grapes, peppers, persimmons, celery, aubergine, parsnips, bags of oranges, onions, garlic, kale, vine tomatoes, boxes of raisins, a cucumber and a punnet of cherries.”
Rebekah told that this would have cost £31.93 but she only paid £3.09 for the box and saved £28.84.
She added: “This was our second box we collected, the first being a few days earlier and which also contained a good range of products. We have ordered another one for collection today so fingers crossed we are lucky enough to get some good products again!”
She advised people to be vigilant as there may only be one or two boxes available per store and they can go in less than one minute of being put up.
