A mother-of-five and four of her young children were killed in a horrific accident after their vehicle crashed into a truck that failed to stop at a stop sign.
32-year-old Jessica Noel was driving and her children were on their way to a grocery store when the driver of a semitrailer loaded with grain ran a stop sign in southwest Sedgwick County.
The family’s white Ford Expedition struck the semitrailer, causing the SUV to split into two, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.
Noel and three of her children four-month-old Hank Willians, Jeffrey Williams, 4, and Anaiah Williams 10, all died at the scene. 23-month-old Mack Williams was rushed to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
The mother’s husband, Jeffrey Williams, rushed to the scene after receiving a call from a friend about the crash.
In a statement to KSN, Noel’s brother-in-law said: “My heart and my family are broken over the loss of my sister-in-law and my four nieces and nephews.
“There are just no words….Thank you to ever who has reached out by email, text, or otherwise. We are taking it one day at a time.”
Noel’s niece has set up a GoFundMe page to help Jeffrey Williams and their sole surviving child.
According to the description, Noel loaded four of their children into the car and drove to a grocery store.
Williams received a call from a friend telling him about a crash not far from their home. He rushed to the scene and found the crash that killed his wife and children.
The description added: “Twenty-three-month-old Mack fought hard but succumbed to his injuries on September 26th, 2020.”
