A furious mom has spoken out after her daughter was forced to remove her false eyelashes at her school.
Angela Jackson is a proud mother from England who slammed Royal Wootton Bassett Academy and vowed to keep on fighting after the school’s staff threatened her 14-year-old daughter with isolation over her false eyelashes.
As the mother insisted, her daughter was reduced to tears after a staff member allegedly took her to the toilet room and waited with her until she removed her false eyelashes.
After the incident, the school reached out to Angela to inform her that her daughter’s eyelashes were in violation of the school’s dress code.
“I went in to pick her up and she was very upset because someone stood over at the basin until she took them off,” the mom says.
“I will not back down on this and she will keep going in to school wearing the eyelashes. It means that she will be in the isolation unit.”
Refusing to back down, the 14-year-old student continued going to school with her false eyelashes only to be placed in isolation every single time.
“She has never been in there before for anything and has never had a detention. I don’t see how wearing false eyelashes impacts on her school work,” Angela added.
“I took photographs of her wearing one set of false lashes like she does for school and another of her wearing two.
“I accept that wearing two sets would be inappropriate but I can’t see that the one set can cause any problems.”
After deciding to stand her ground and make her case against the school known, the mother received mixed replies from other parents.
While some people agreed her daughter should be allowed to wear false eyelashes if that’s what she likes, others suggested the school was simply enforcing the dress code that everyone has to follow.
