Twins were born decades apart when their mother went into labor on New Years’ Eve.
Dawn Gilliam, mother of twins, to Josylyn and Jaxon at 11.37 pm on 31st December and 12.07 am on 1st January 2020.
The twins were born at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital Carmel, Indiana but weren’t due until February. It was after the mother visited the hospital worried about the lack of movement of the twins in her womb.
When she visited the hospital on New Years’ Eve, doctors said that she might have to deliver today. She wasn’t prepared but was happy to welcome the twins on New Years’ day.
The proud mum of the twins who were born decades apart said that she knew Joslyn would come first because throughout the pregnancy he has been in the right position. And Jaxon was a breach so it definitely took him a while to come out.
Joslyn weighed 4lbs 11oz and Jaxon weighed 4lbs 5oz, so currently both are being fed by tubes but are in healthy condition. According to the doctors they will be sent home soon.
Their dad said that they used to say how great it would be if their kids were born on two different dates. And now they are born in two different decades, that’s something extremely special.
They are overwhelmed by the decade’s difference between their babies. For Gilliam, it was just 17 minutes gap between her twins, a couple in Germany had 3 months gap between their twins.
The girls were born 97 days apart and were instantly a medical sensation in Germany. It was a bizarre moment for the hospital as it was medically impossible.
Both the girls were born healthy and the mother was also safe as well. It is among the rarest case in the maternity clinic.
