A newborn baby who had sepsis was dismissed by medical professions as a common cold.
He later died after an array of extraordinary NHS blunders.
A mother lost her child just forty-eight days after he was born. The twenty-nine-year-old Laura Cooker had to undergo the agony of mourning at Luchii Gavilescu’s, her son, lifeless body.
Vlado Gavrilescu’s, her twenty-nine-year-old husband and her nightmares began 5 weeks after the son’s birth.
The couple noticed that their newborn baby had a rash peppering his delicate skin and started developing breathing problems.
With no appointments available with her local GP, the mother from Margate, Kent, went to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (QEQM) hospital with their son on 29th November.
She alleged that the doctors told that the symptoms were that of a common bronchiolitis infection.
She was told by the doctors that there was not anything to worry about, and there was no need for conducting blood tests.
But the condition of the baby kept on deteriorating, so the stressed mother rushed back to A&E on her GP’s advice.
She was sent home again with saline drops after her baby was diagnosed with a cold.
However, during the new few days, the condition of Luchii worsened with him slipping in and slipping out of consciousness.
Luchii’s skin mottled and his urine was dark. On 6th December morning, M Cooke was highly stressed and broke down in front of her own mother, Anne.
M Cooke is a mother to ten-year-old Archie and nine-year-old Macie as well. She said that her baby looked pale, and was floppy and lethargic.
The duo then called 999 after which the baby was brought to the hospital. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the baby died in the night after suffering from a cardiac arrest. The family is devastated and grieving for the lost member.
