A mother has opened up about her ordeal after allegedly being ordered to retrieve her child’s soiled nappy from the trash.
As Farah Naz Khan explained, she was on a Mesa Airlines plane bound from Houston to Montana when she was confronted by an angry flight attendant.
According to the mother, who was traveling with her baby, she changed her child’s soiled nappy at the back of the plane before wrapping it in a scented bag. Farah then went on to throw the bag in the trash bin only to be scolded by a male staff member who told her to remove the “biohazard” from the bin.
Feeling “belittled” and “humiliated,” the 34-year-old mom went on to search through the trash until she found the nappy.
Following the incident, Farah’s embarrassment turned into anger and she went on to talk about what had happened to another staff member who allegedly told her she didn’t do anything wrong.
After landing in Montana, the mother decided to file an official complaint. Just hours later, however, she was contacted by the same flight attendant who confronted her on the plane.
“I recognized the voice. He said, ‘Due to a biohazard incident on the plane today, we’ve placed you on the no-fly list.’ This made me very angry, because I suffered the humiliating experience. They are placing me on a no-fly list?” the woman said in an interview with Today.
“I also didn’t dispose of the diaper on the plane, even if it was considered a biohazard. I walked it off the plane and threw it away myself outside the flight.”
To make matters worse, Farah claimed that the flight attendant slammed her for bringing her child on the plane. “You people bring your children everywhere,” he allegedly said. “Don’t you know that some people just want a peaceful flight and don’t want to listen to your effing children?”
According to the reports, the case is currently under investigation by the airline.
