A mother has surprised the internet by saying she purchased hundreds of Christmas toys for her three young children.
She spent £1,700 or 3,000 Australian dollars for gifts, including stuffed toys, video games, and bikes, and her gifts almost filled an entire room.
Many Facebook users expressed their shock at the overflowing Christmas toys while others questioned whether the mother had gone too far.
Kristy shared photos and video of the Christmas haul to a mother’s group, saying: “Finally emptied my Christmas cupboards to see what I’ve collected over the last few months… did I mention that I LOATHE wrapping presents.
“Super grateful to have all this for my three crotch demons but f**k.”
Some parents were quick to criticize her for her ‘amazing’ present haul.
One stated: “That’s ridiculous.”
Another commented: “Oh dear… a bit much. I’d be saving for some birthdays.”
Kristy was also quick to respond to haters, staying she would not let society ‘guilt trip’ her for giving her children lots of gifts.
She said: “Society will try let you believe there is [something wrong with spoiling your kids] or try guilt trip you for it.”
Sharon Witt, a parenting expert, told FEMAIL that “as parents we are doing no favours by spoiling our children with an overabundance of gifts.”
Doing so encourages children to always expect more. Sharon suggested “teaching our children about restraint” and reminding kids that Christmas is more about giving than receiving.
