A mother showed anger at her husband’s mother who delivered a huge haul of Easter eggs to her three children.
She said that she had told her mother-in-law last year that giving one egg to each child is enough and if she wants to do more for them then she can give them a small gift.
But the granny of children didn’t follow her daughter-in-law’s instructions and dropped off 10 easter eggs each to her three grandkids. This made the mother angry and she said that it undermined her.
The mother said, “Mother-in-law has just dropped off 10 easter eggs each to my three children (we maintained social distancing, she left them at the end of the path).’’
“Now don’t get me wrong, I am grateful, but 10 each? Really? I think this is not only overzealous, it also undermines me.’’
“I have told her in previous years that one egg each is more than enough, and maybe a small gift, however she continues to undermine me in front of my children.
She explained that she has given permission to her children to choose one egg as the rest will be dropped to the local food bank. The woman continued: “I have allowed my children to choose one egg each from the pile to go with the eggs they have already received, and the rest will be dropped off at the local food bank next week.’’
“Darling husband thinks I am being unreasonable and has gone upstairs in a huff. Happy Easter hey?”
She asked people if her reaction was justified or she overreacted. To which many supported her and slammed her mother-in-law for stockpiling eggs amid the shortage of items.
One wrote: “That’s a crazy amount of chocolate. Next year I would stop her before she gets to the house. She is trying to undermine you on purpose.”
Another added: “You’re doing the right thing by dropping it off to the food bank. You can tell your husband that some people (me) couldn’t get hold of any chocolate eggs because they’d all sold out. Now that your MIL bought 30 eggs, she has contributed to the unfair distribution of chocolate eggs by STOCKPILING.”
But one person differed with the woman’s opinion and criticized her writing, “What size? Let them keep a few for God’s sake, they are kids. You sound like a bit of a kill joy.”
