A brave mom lost her battle against terminal cancer moments after telling her family to “please look after my boys.
”
32-year-old Tanya Davies passed away with her loved ones around her, including her two children, 8-year-old Jack, and 14-year-old Ben.
The mother-of-two was put in remission in December. After three months, doctors told her that her cancer had returned and had spread to her liver and pelvis.
Davies remained optimistic in her last few months of life. Sadly, her death came only a few days after she booked a family trip to Greece.
“We can’t wait…more memories to be made,” her last Facebook post read.
Davies’ uncle Ian Benneth said always looked dazzling and was still having makeovers in her hospital bed. She had enjoyed sleepovers and wines as her friends shared she was always determined to make “every last second count.”
Ian said to Chronicle Live: “She was a proper strong lady. All she would say to me though was ‘Uncle Ian, please bring those boys up properly.’ It was all she wanted.”
Davies’ story touched the entire community, who managed to raise £20,000 for her family.
Before she passed away, the mother revealed how she had sat her children down and made them “promise to always look after one another.”
“It was heartbreaking telling them,” she expressed at that time. “It is one of the hardest things I had to do. I had to do it without crying.”
The day before that painful conversation, she was told her bowel cancer had returned and had to her liver and pelvis.
After 17 rounds of chemotherapy in December, Davies was told she was in remission. But in March, a scan revealed that her cancer had returned.
