A mother from New York went down a slide with her one-year-old daughter, has posted a spine-chilling picture with a warning that has taken the Internet by storm.
Heather Clare, from New York, has warned other parents never to go on a slide with their child.
She posted an image on Facebook of her child’s foot bending backward while caught between her leg and the slide.
Heather went down a slide with her one-year-old daughter sitting on her lap. In the picture she posted on Facebook, the child’s foot can be seen bending backward while caught between her leg and the slide.
She posted the picture on her Facebook with a long caption to warn parents. She wrote:
“So every year I do a PSA on going down a slide with your child on your lap. When Meadow was 12 months old (I went down with Matthew first, but he was lucky), I went down the slide with her on my lap, and her foot got caught between me and the slide. This picture is the moment her leg was breaking. She’s still smiling… because it was happening at this exact moment.”

I had no idea.point 11 | I thought everyone took their kids down the slide.point 53 | I strongly feel every playground should have a warning sign, but since I’ve never seen one (and we go to ALOT of playgrounds), I share this picture every year in hopes that the pain Meadow felt and the guilt that I still feel will save other babies and parents from the same.point 279 |

“ETA: For all of the common sense posts… it is literally one of the top 3 reasons young children are seen in the ER during the Spring and Summer.”

Heather’s post is a warning, and all of us must take this warning very seriously as an estimated 352,698 children under the age of 6 were injured riding a slide while on a parent’s lap, according to a study.
It’s time to take this warning seriously for our children’s safety.
