A mother and her lesbian partner have been arrested after severely mutilating their son because he reminded them of the mum’s father.

Following their brutal actions, 27-year-old Rosana Candido and 28-year-old Kacyla Pessoa have been apprehended and are facing multiple charges related to child abuse, mutilation, and murder.

According to the official reports, the women tore off the boy’s penis before sewing a fake vagina onto his body. Speaking of the injury, the lesbians claimed they did so because the 9-year-old “wanted to be a girl.”

The women were also accused of peeling the boy’s skin off the face and attempting to gouge out his eyes. In addition, the pair stabbed young Rhuan multiple times in their home near Brazil’s capital.

As the court heard, the mother moved away with her son five years ago after her ex-partner lost custody of the boy.

Following the gruesome murder and torture, the couple tried to get rid of the evidence by burning a part of the boy’s body on a barbecue and dumping the rest of it in a sewer. Some body parts were also found in suitcases in the women’s home.

After pleading guilty to the charges, Rosana admitted her son was a “burden” who got between her relationship with Kacyla.

The mother also claimed she “felt hatred and no love” for Rhuan because he reminded her of her ex-partner. In an attempt to seek sympathy, Rosana claimed the father of the boy used to abuse her.

“She killed her son, quartered, decapitated, plucked the skin and tried to get rid of the body. It was a very terrible case,” Police chief Guilherme Melo said in an interview with O Tempo, adding that the brutality of the crime shocked even the toughest of investigators.

After the incident, the mother’s 9-year-old daughter has been placed under the care of child protection services.
