A mother-of-five fell to her death after attempting to take a shortcut to the beach while on a trip with her family.
Tahira Jabeen from Birmingham, UK, was a mother of five kids who plunged some one hundred feet off a cliff in front of her daughter.
The family was reportedly enjoying their free day near Durdle Door, Dorset, when the woman, who was in her 40s, tried to get to the beach by taking a shortcut.
“I’m coming down,” the mom shouted just moments before taking a wrong step and slipping off the cliff above the Man O’ War Beach.
Following the tragic accident, a witness spoke out to confirm that the victim fell off the cliff after choosing to “climb down the rocks while her daughter took the steps.”
“People on the cliff and on the beach were shouting at her to stay still but she didn’t listen and carried on,” the witness said.
“The rocks were coming loose under feet then she just bounced down. The woman’s daughter saw her fall. It is just awful.”
Another witness, Michelle Attard, recalled the terrifying scene at the beach following the deadly fall.
“We saw the unfortunate sight of the poor woman lying at bottom of the cliff at Man O’ War beach with a couple of paramedics around her,” she said.
“There was another lady who was laying there being tended to, she looked quite traumatized. It was very, very unfortunate.”
As a local landlord, James Weld, later revealed, reports suggest that the woman had ignored warning signs and the people who told her not to climb down the cliff.
“The reports we have received would suggest that this was a tragic accident as a woman attempted to climb down the cliffs above Man O’ War beach, despite many endeavoring to call to her to stop and stay where she was,” he said.
“Whatever the circumstances, such a tragedy affects us all and our hearts go out to her family.”
Our thoughts are with Jabeen and the family during these hard times.
